A Tourific Good Food Tour! On Season & Off Season*!

We don't offer the typical food tour. We offer walking food and cultural tours highlighting mouth-watering experiences and a slice of history. We take you back where it happens, spend time chatting with chefs, owners, and culinary experts, and create unique experiences. You’ll see, smell, and taste what shapes our wonderful town — from its food to the art, history, and culture. We just couldn’t resist highlighting two separate areas of town that are well worth the visit, so one of our tours offers a two-part culinary experience for you to enjoy.

*Off season November 2017 to April 2018: If you have a group of 8 or more, we are happy to do a tour for you. Please contact Cathy directly at cathy@thegoodfoodtour.com

The Good Food Tour strongly feels that no one in our community should go hungry so we have chosen to give $1 of each ticket sold to our local food bank.

The Good Food Tours Will Get You Right Up Close.

Downtown Meets Uptown (ALMONTE)

Every Friday   |    11:30 a.m.   |   approx. 3 hours

It all starts just on the edge of town where you'll visit some of Almonte's most innovative entrepreneurs and see and learn how things are rolled, cut, roasted, brewed, and tempered. Of course, you will be eating and drinking the finished product!

We'll start at Equator Coffee Roasters where you will enjoy locally roasted organic, fair-trade coffees and some delicious wood-fired pizza. Next you'll savour the non-guilty pleasure of freshly made donuts with 50% less fat at HFT, followed by some of the world’s best award-winning chocolate at Hummingbird Chocolate.  We'll finish up the first part of the tour with some British style ale at the Crooked Mile Microbrewery

For part 2 of the tour we'll take a short 1.5 km drive to the original, historic part of Almonte nestled along the beautiful Mississippi River. As you eat your way down Mill Street you will experience the gorgeous architecture and natural beauty of Almonte, and you will hear about its storied past and culture of today. You'll nibble artisanal cheeses and pairings at Peches et Poivre and finish off the tour with a little bit of France with crepes at the Mill Street Crepe Company!

Please ensure you have transportation to get to the second half of the tour.

The tour will take 3 hours. $65 per person +ticketing fee.

Down by the river (Almonte)

Every Sunday  |    1:00 p.m.  |   approx. 3 hours

We finish off the tour with a local beer on one of the best patios in the Ottawa region at The Barley Mow.

We walk at a leisurely pace so the group can fully see, hear, smell, and taste all that Almonte has to offer. We walk about a half kilometre, stopping and sitting down at many of the establishments.  Please note that the Sunday tour is similar to Saturday's but with a few different places added or subtracted depending on the partners' business hours.
